Challenge yourself to change the course of Alzheimer’s disease by signing up to be an ALZ Star. Go the distance in the fight against this devastating disease by training for a race. In addition, make an impact as you raise valuable funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

WHAT'S AN ALZ STAR?

ALZ Stars are a group of individuals who want to END Alzheimer’s by raising funds to help support the Alzheimer’s Association - in exchange for – professional training, a personal fundraising website, a personalized tech shirt, support from staff and teammates, and a new network of friends!

JOIN OUR TEAM

Runners, cyclists, triathletes are all welcome! We welcome any athlete in any race and are currently focused on growing our team for the Carlsbad Marathon & Half Marathon on January 17, 2016. We would love to have you and/or your friends & family on our team! We are also looking for a Team Captain to help lead our team. If you are interested, please let me know!

To get started, click on "Click Here to Register" above. Follow the directions to personalize your fundraising page (Social Fundraising) & start training! We ask our ALZ Stars to raise a minimum of $500 per race. We have tips, email & social media templates to help you every step of the way!

Please Note: In order to maximize the funds raised through this event, the ALZ Stars program does not automatically provide you with your race entry. After you sign up, it’s time to start training toward the finish line and fundraising to fight Alzheimer’s!

FREE TRAINING ACCESS!

Whether this is your 100th or 1st event, we are here to help and we welcome you! Our partners at PEAK Finders Training have a running coach just for you! Like last year, they will provide our ALZ Stars complimentary & optional access to their 12-week training program! This will start on Saturday, October 24th at De Anza Cove at 8am. 

In addition, if interested, PEAK Finders is extending their membership price($100) to our ALZ Stars for a brand-new 6-week session focused specifically on developing speed, strength, endurance & awareness. This session will start October 3rd at De Anza Cove.

The important thing to remember is we are running for charity! We are proud to have you as an ALZ Star and we want to support you every step of the way.  

TEAM BENEFITS

Each ALZ Stars team member will receive a personalized technical T-shirt after they reach the $500 minimum. Shirts can be worn to train and on race day. Past ALZ Stars often comment on the number of "Thank Yous" they receive!

We will provide you with training through our partners at PEAK Finders, fundraising guidance and most importantly, the camaraderie of a team that is participating to achieve the same vision--a world without Alzheimer’s disease. We’ll celebrate our progress and share our enthusiasm at the Alz Stars pasta dinner. On race day, enjoy exclusive access to the ALZ Stars tent and amenities (depending on the race).
